Toft Baadebyggeri

Toft Baadebyggeri is a small yard in Denmark that specialises in high quality work building, restoring and repairing wooden boats. They also do quality teak- and interior work, using modern techniques and materials.

The yard is owned and operated by Jochen Dunker, who has a long history in wooden boats. After completing high school he joined a boat yard near Hamburg, Germany, which specialised in fishing and other workboats and also built wooden pleasure boats. After working for them for a few years, followed by work in Caribbean and Mediterranean countries, Jochen worked as ship's carpenter on the famous sailing ship "Sea Cloud". After that he started his own small boatbuilding business in Hamburg and in 1995 took over the company Toft Baadebyggeri in Denmark. It is in an area that boasts a long history of wooden boatbuilding.

Jochen has redesigned several traditional boats for building in plywood and has done a number of successful conversions of former working boats.

Didi 40 Pilot

Toft Baadebyggeri are building this Didi 40 for Guenter Grabe of Germany. Guenter is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Kiel and has used our Didi 38/40 as the basis of a pilot version for himself.
