NEWSFLASH: SHEARWATER 45 WINS CRUISING WORLD BOAT OF THE YEAR AWARD

During the early hours of this morning, South African time, the Cruising World Boat of the Year 2001 Awards were announced by live webcast on the Boats.com website. Boats are nominated as candidates to receive these awards from the new models introduced to the USA market at the annual Annapolis Sailboat Show. Judging is done by a very high-powered group of independent judges from the North American boating industry.

Our Shearwater 45, built in Cape Town by Richard Acheson's Shearwater Yachts, was nominated in the "Best Traditional Voyager" category. Not only did she win this category, but she was also voted by the judges to be the overall winner of the "Cruising Boat of the Year Award" ahead of all nominees in all categories.
