Jorg and Christiane Langanky built their Hout Bay 30 "April" in Letzin, Germany.
Christiane is fairing the cutting line at the tangent between radius and side plating.

In this photo she is fitting a template before cutting a bottom plate. Jorg is normally on the wrong side of the camera.
|
Their boat is nearly ready for launch and looks like fine quality for an amateur built boat. They have achieved this finish without filling over their plating, an excellent result for people who have not built a steel boat before.

Here they are sailing in Portugal, after cruising from Germany.
|
They have no engine in "April" and have this to say. "We did not have any major problems, the boat sailed really well, even in strange situations. Owning no engine, we really tested her sailing performance in the English Channel and the Bay of Biscay in light and strong winds up to F7."
