A Didi Mini hull was built in 8 days, from building stocks to coated hull skin, in the "TLY BUILDING COURSE - September 2005"

The course was a great success, with 10 students coming from all over Europe and working on a "Didi Mini pre-cut kit" supplied by TLY.

The course program:
Day 1: assembling building stock and setting up bulkheads
Day 2: completion of bulkheads - fitting first stringer
Day 3: completion of stringers - fitting hull bottom panels
Day 4: hull side panels - first layer of strips in the radius area
Day 5: second layer of strips in the radius area - filling
Day 6: continue filling - rudders
Day 7: coating
Day 8: turning the hull (only demonstrative, the hull needs more filling and coating)

Claudio of TLY taught students how to do quality wooden boat building , explaining the "Radius Chine Method" for plywood and showing them his "woodworker's secrets".

Leo of NAUTIKIT ensured that the course properly followed the methods intended by Dudley Dix, as set out in the Didi Mini plans and Building Guide. He also taught the correct use of epoxy glues and resins. NAUTIKIT supplied resins for the course (SP Systems - SP106 multi-purpose resin).

The TLY kit includes:
building stocks to assemble in a few minutes
bulkheads
complete backbone
stringers
hull, deck and cabin panels

TLY also supplies the "Didi 26 Kit" with the same features as the Didi Mini.
